Cara McGregor wanted a space on the web that was unique, sophisticated, and all writerly wonderment. The result was a subtly textured, highly typographic website that features the latest CSS & HTML standards in Thesis format.

Allissa Haines (massage therapist, blue lovin’ chick du jours) commissioned me to work on her new blog, Writing a Blue Streak. The end result was soft, sassy, and all Allissa. Tricked out with all the latest and greatest in social networking and social sharing (including a custom coded sticky social network bar), Writing a Blue Streak is ready to take the world of Massage Therapy Blogs by storm.

Belli’s Blog of Fashion was a pro bono website done for the daughter of Julie Roads‘ friend. Belli is a young fashionista and needed a place on the web that was truly hers. At eleven years old, she’s a marvelous young lady with a real eye for fashion and trends. A joy.

After the success with the badge for “Conversations With Your Heart”, Ronna and I continued to work together to revamp and update her website. Before I got my hands on it, Ronna was running a derivative of Thesis 1.5.1 and was in need of some reorganization and design focus. After a few (renegade) conversations about where she saw the site going, we kept it simple and elegant with a few punches of colour. RENEGADEconversations is now a marvel of technical ingenuity (on the back end) and minimalistic beauty.

Alyssa is a budding (and talented) travel writer. She recently won a contest that allowed her to invest in a redesign for her (then) Wordpress.com website. Her new portfolio, now hosted through Surpass Hosting, uses the Thesis theme.

Volunteer Connections was looking to branch out into the world of blogging. Kelly Diels asked me if I’d like to come along for the web design ride and, of course, I agreed. Volunteer Connections Blog is skinned to have the same look and feel as its parent site. VCB uses a highly customized version of the Thesis theme.

The birth of violetminded was on September 15, 2009 but it didn’t really come into its own until sometime in January. The violet zombies chewed on me until I got the layout right.

When I approached Kelly Diels about revamping her blog (then known as “KellyDiels.com”) and rebranding her identity, neither of us knew how far it would take us. Nearly four months after Cleavage launched under its new name and new image, Kelly now writes weekly for ProBlogger.net, has a successful copywriting business, and continues to woo the crowds with her sharp wit and brilliant prose.
